17 Months*Edited

**I thought of a LOT more stuff to add, so I am back!

Hannah Kate is 17 months old! Oddly enough, her 17 month pictures were taken on 7-7-12. :)

Diaper Size: 4

Weight:  24 pounds (she had a "sick" visit to the doctor today)

Clothing Size: She's still in a lot of 9-12 month clothes, most 12-18 month stuff is still too big, but we put her in them anyway.

Food Fun:  She still loves fruit, crackers, cookies, & ice cream!  She's really into getting bites of what we are eating.  It doesn't matter if she likes it or not, she still asks us for "bite bite bite!"

Fun Facts/Newest Tricks:
~"singing"-like a backup singer-it's pretty funny-she also sways and bobs her head-I've GOT to get this on video-We've been practicing with her sitting between us & singing some hymns at home & that has helped a lot with her sitting in between us & singing during worship services.
~throwing things away or picking things up-as she is walking to the trash can, she says, "YAY!" & as she is walking to pick up something or bring it to you, she says, "TANK OU TANK OU!" We brag on her & tell her what a good helper she is.  We want her to always feel like she is a necessary part of our family, so we are starting early!  I learned the other day that if she has something in her hand & I hear her say, "Bye Bye," I should go check what she's doing--she was throwing trash into the trash can (that she had found) & dirty laundry back into the laundry basket.  That could be dangerous though!
~jumping-she likes to squat & bounce back up while saying "JUP JUP"
~sitting on the potty-emphasis on the "sitting" part-she likes the "seat" & we are just trying things out-she did manage to accomplish the goal once (on Sunday) because I threw her on there fast enough when I realized what was happening (this was after she had sat there for 30 minutes reading books & singing with us)-I scared her putting her on there so fast, so she cried, but I cheered & "YAY"ed & gave her a cookie, so hopefully she is making the connection.  Later that day, she kept walking to the potty & saying "Potty, poop, cookie." :)
~eating with a spoon & fork-we've been practicing with a spoon & she does fairly well-last night, we tried the fork again & she did great!
~she's started holding out her hands & cupping them together when she wants you to pick her up-it's pretty cute.  Originally, she was only doing that if she wanted Nana to hold her & I realized it was because Nana would hold her hands out like that & say, "Do you want to come to Nana?" Now, she's branched it out to anyone-including random people at O'Charley's.  I've got to get a picture of this soon!
~she randomly picks up objects & "brushes" her hair with them
~in preparation for baby #2, I've been trying to help her be more independent-she can go to the car & climb into the backseat by herself! I've also been letting her hold my hand & walk more when we are out somewhere instead of carrying her all of the time. She can also roll to her belly & slide off of the bed properly.
~she's been getting Jimmy the paci only at bedtime & sometimes during worship services for quite awhile now. When we get her out of bed, she immediately throws Jimmy & the other paci into the crib & says, "Bye bye bye bye," without us telling her to do so.

Things Hannah Kate LOVES:
~"seats".....still.....laundry baskets, her four-wheeler, chairs, the bed, anything she can sit on
~her four-wheeler--she likes to push the buttons to make it talk & sit on it
~books-she LOVES to "read" & be read to
~"helping" with anything (this is good....sometimes!)
~smelling of flowers-she smelled almost every flower at Ma Coley's visitation/funeral (& there were a LOT!)-when she smells them, she says, "Mmmmmm"
~shoes.....still
~her baby doll "Baby"
~Dada-she REALLY misses him when he is at work.
~trees-anytime she sees one she signs & excitedly says "tee! tee!"
~she really likes to knock on windows-especially if someone is outside & can knock back to her

Things Hannah Kate Does Not Love:
~loud noises-Sunday night, there was a loud motorcycle in the parking lot-she did not love this-I could have let go of her & ran & she would have still been attached to me!
~being held still

Words:
Now that Hannah Kate can pretty much say anything she wants, I think I'm going to start listing her most often used words.  I hope I don't regret that later, but the thought of trying to remember every word she says is a little exhausting. You can look at the detailed list from last month here.
~tank ou ~yay ~bo (no) ~Dada ~Papa ~Nana ~Mama ~dog ~tee (tree) ~leaf ~Bible ~baby ~GO! ~cow ~moo (pretty much any animal sound-her roar like a bear is pretty awesome)

~she's getting better with people's names & identifying them in pictures-about a week before Ma Coley passed away, Hannah Kate started calling her Kiki anytime she saw her picture-she's still doing this. I think she's trying to say Coley & it comes out Kiki.. ??
~Other names she can say: Pa, Sheshe (Ms. Sherri at church), Sasa (Sarah OR Celia-she says the same for both), a-a (Ali-same as Amen), Mak (Mark), Daycie (Gracie), Cacol (Carol) Ninana (Mrs. Diana), she occasionally says Jana, Maggie, Mollie or Granna/Granny (whatever she says for those is the same)

Signs: (that she regularly uses)
~please (she started signing that totally on her on after seeing it on her DVD), thank you, milk, water, ball, car, go, cold, hot, star, flower, all done, tree, fish, dog, yes, potty, sleep, stop, cookie, cracker, eat, drink, wait

My aunt Carol got her this cute dress before she was born. This is what she wore to Ma Coley's funeral. When I was packing, she kept pulling on the dress hanging on the door & yelling "Mooooo!!!!"
We hadn't done pictures with the Cabbage Patch Doll from Ma Coley in awhile.  I need to do a comparison of these someday.
