Valentine's Day/Vanderbilt Visit

I can't believe I hadn't posted this.....I am further behind than I thought!
On Valentine's Day, Hannah Kate had her one year check up at the NICU Follow-Up Clinic. We went to spend the night with Celia the night before after Wesley got off of work. Charlie wasn't sure what to think of Hannah Kate.....but she loves him!

We met some of our nurses at the Pancake Pantry. Lindsay and Amy were there-Michelle was going to come, but her daughter got sick. Hannah Kate had a very off day.....her banana that I had for her breakfast had been left in the car and was cold, so she wouldn't eat it. She also wouldn't eat the pancakes or anything else, but she kept asking for food (signing more) and crying. What a way to start our day! Thankfully, Lindsay, Amy, and Celia were patient with her and us!

Hannah Kate cried almost the entire time we were at breakfast. :/
She fell asleep as soon as we got in the car (it was a 3 minute drive to VCH). She slept when we got her into the stroller, strolled her through the outdoor parking garage, into the hospital, and while the nurse measured her head! She finally woke up when we got her out of the stroller and started to take her clothes off of her to weigh her! Measurements:
weight: 9.45 kg
length: 71.6 cm
head circumference: 45.8 cm

Hannah Kate and Wesley passed the time while we waited :)
We saw a nurse practitioner who we had not met before. She was nice, but she didn't have a lot to say. We were glad that we were visiting other people or we would have been a bit disappointed. She watched Hannah Kate, played with her, and asked us questions. She said she was on her actual age level for language but was on her adjusted age level for cognition and motor development. I didn't really agree with that for cognition and neither did Mrs. Diana (early intervention). Oh well, it doesn't matter! She's not behind, so that's good!
After her appointment, we went back to the car to load up the stroller and our arms with all of the wonderful donations people sent for the NICU. All of the bags on the desk are the donations. :)

The lady in the background was the volunteer working the desk. When she saw all that Hannah Kate had to donate, she went and got one of the ladies who is in charge of the NICU. That lady swiped Hannah Kate, told us to go in the front door and she would meet us (she and Hannah Kate went in the back)!!

We saw some friends at the desk who we had met when we were there. Nurse Jenna and her husband came to see Hannah Kate.
Mrs. Carol, the lactation consultant, came to see us too! She was a HUGE help and support for us while I was trying to nurse and pumping!
Neither one of them had seen her since we left the hospital!
Hannah Kate was really into their name tags and necklaces :)
Jenna graciously took this picture......Hannah Kate wasn't crying, so I called it success!
She wasn't feeling that well. We also went to visit Mrs. Patti and Mrs. Nancy from the clinic. Dr. Carroll was in surgery and we didn't get to see her. Then, we went to see some people Wesley worked with when he worked at Vanderbilt.
We drove to Murfreesboro and ate at Demos with the Vicks. Hannah Kate was still in rare form. We are going to have to see them again soon so they will see the real Hannah Kate!

So, our Valentine's Day wasn't quite what I had hoped, but I'm having to learn to go with the flow!
Hannah Kate and her Valentine......

We go back to the NICU Follow-Up Clinic for Hannah Kate's 18 month check up in August.
