20 Months Old

Hannah Kate is 20 months old! She is such a big girl these days.  Sometimes, she will do or say something & Wesley & I will look at each other in disbelief.  Where did our baby go?

Diaper Size: 4

Clothing Size: 12-18 months

Food Fun: new: raisins, apples, bbq, roast, broccoli with cheese (we call it cheese & she gobbles it up); still loves: grapes, cheese, crackers, chips, cookies, ice cream, cake (don't worry, those last 4 are for special treats only!)

Fun Facts: 

~all of her babies are named Kate (this includes dolls, animals, etc.)

~she thinks "Caiah" is in everyone's belly

~she's finally giving kisses again-she gives them to her babies, Micaiah (in anyone's belly), & finally to Mommy & Daddy again

~when she plays with her animals, she says, "WAK!" very adamantly to them & tries to make them walk

~anytime we exit a drive thru (including the bank), she immediately starts signing & saying "more"

~she has started working on her second Bible verse-Genesis 1:1. Last night, when we worked with her to say it, it sounded like this: "In de earf....de beginning God created de earf....de heavens & de earf." At least she has "de earf" part down!

~she can answer: Who was the first Daddy? ("Ad-man") Who was the first Mommy? Who were Adam & Eve's babies? (Cain, A-ble (short a), & Sef (Seth))

~she has started saying parts of prayers-sometimes she will fold her hands, say, "pray," & jabber & sometimes during her prayer I will say, "Thank you for..." & let her say things.  So far, it's been Daddy, Mommy, Mollie, Nana, Papa.  She will also say "fait-ful Chris-ian" when I pray for her to grow up to be a faithful Christian & marry a faithful Christian. 

~she has started requesting songs during our Family Bible Time or in general-her favorites are "Hippo," "Shine" (This Little Light), & "Jonah Jonah."  She can sing almost every other book of the New Testament. She also likes our devotional songs CDs & will hum & "sing" along with them ("ooooooooooooh").

~she has started to aggravate like her daddy does! We had two bottle calves for a couple of weeks & she insisted on calling them dogs once she saw that it irritated me.  It's now a joke. If you ask her about a baby calf, she will say "palf.....baby......DOG! ruff ruff!" & make the sign for dog & laugh.

~she's good at cleaning up & will do so without even being asked-she has to have everything out of the floor & in the toy basket! Awesome. 

~she has started telling us what or where she wants to play "woom" is living room & usually there is a particular toy that she remembers is there (I have no idea how she remembers this!).  She also has started calling people on the phone. I got a hilarious video of her last week calling Nana on the fan remote "phone"-she jabbered in a weird garbled voice the entire time & held the phone to her ear with her arm in the air like when she carries a purse.

~she's started remembering things & talking about them more-it started with her eye doctor trip. She will still say "doctors....eyes.....doctors.....eyes......" Even though some of these have been weeks ago, she frequently says: Summer....fowers....tank ou............(we took flowers to our neighbor, Summer); Dosh....eat.... (Mr. Josh fixed our heat); Papa.....shot (Wesley gave him a flu shot). 

Things Hannah Kate LOVES:

~the fly swatter-gross but true-at least it's an improvement over crying every time we swatted a fly. Now, she wants her own fly swatter & will swat the floor while saying "FIES!"

~crawling....while saying "cwawl cwawl"

~Elmo, "Ermie," Bert, & "Cookie"-it started with the iPad app Elmo's ABCs, then an Elmo book that came in the mail, & now she will watch Bert & Ernie clips on YouTube with Wesley

~baby dolls.....she really likes to hold all 3 in her lap at the same time & "feed" them with a sippy cup while saying "DINK!" (drink).  She also shushes them, pats & rocks them, & covers them with a "banket."  She is a good little momma!

~coats, blankets, & pillows-she called her jacket "Jack" all day one day last week.  I've decided she really likes fleece because that's what her jacket, new footie pjs, & blankets have in common.  She will cry hysterically if I take off her pjs (or if she thinks I am going to).

~Digga Doug (Digger Doug)-we only have one episode, & her favorite song is "Somp Somp" which is the one about dinosaurs stomping.  Sing Along Sycamore is her favorite.  

~tractors  

~"tweats"-Welch's fruit snacks that she gets one or two of if she's done something exceptional or after a doctor appointment 

~her Busy Bible-she likes to take all of the felt pieces out & carry them around.  Her favorite piece is Baby Moses & she will even feed him with the sippy cup.

Things Hannah Kate Does Not Love:
~taking off her pjs

~men using a deep, loud voice....this has happened with Michael & with Wesley-she cries, shakes her head, says, "no no no," in a pitiful voice & climbs in Mommy's lap.

~tiss (kiss), Moi (high pitched)-ses (Moses), hattop (teapot), paf (calf), buttanon (button), zeb-ra (short e), 'es go (let's go), ha k (okay), gapes (grapes), deresheis (there she is), wook! (look), mess, Nono (Noah), Ha Kate (she says this as her name now!), hand hand hand (if she wants you to hold her hand), hawesome (awesome), powow (pillow), at me (Brittany), shoo-weee (when we take off her socks/shoes), love dou (love you), tank ou (thank you), kietly (quietly)

~She has started repeating the end of whatever we say.

New Signs:

~She signs pretty much everything that she knows a sign for as she says it.  Yesterday, I said friend & she signed it for the first time.
