It's hard to believe Hannah Kate is already 15 months old. She is literally learning or doing something new everyday.
Diaper Size: 4
Weight: 22 pounds, 3 ounces
Clothing Size: 9-12 months-there are a few things that she can wear that are 12-18 months but most are still too big.
Food Fun: Hannah Kate has eaten a banana for breakfast for months.......until last week. Suddenly, she is not interested. I am having a hard time finding something to feed her that I feel is healthy. She still loves biscuits & sometimes strawberries at breakfast. She loves grapes & her new favorite is cheese! I slice little pieces off of a block. She has been eating cheese, grapes, & some crackers for lunch lately. She gets very excited when she sees the cheese! She likes Ritz Bitz cheese crackers too. She also really likes ice water. I think mainly she likes drinking out of Wesley's cup, but she has also done better about drinking her own water if there is ice in it.
Fun Facts/Newest Tricks:
~Hannah Kate has a total of 9 teeth! She has 4 on top, 4 on bottom, & 1 1-year molar. The outside 2 on top & bottom & the molar are not completely in, but they are close.
~Talking......a lot!
~"giving five"-well, she at least likes to pat your hand-she will turn your hand over & start patting
~Walking.....sort of. Hannah Kate took her first good steps on April 13 (3 steps) & April 16 (8 steps). She still isn't walking, it's more "taking steps." She will walk back & forth between us, but she has only walked by herself once (Saturday, she let go of what she was holding & took about 3 steps to a friend of ours without prompting, I think). Maybe she will walk one day!
~Blowing kisses-she had done this for a day, but now it's back. So sweet!
~Making an "Indian" noise...I realize this isn't politically correct, but that's okay. She does this when we sing "Jesus loves the Indian boy, bow & arrow for his toy." She thinks it's hilarious & it's cute.
~She can answer where is your: belly, head, toes, diaper (when I say potty, she grabs her diaper).
~Giving Daddy kisses-she just dove after him with her mouth open one night & I said, "I think she's trying to give you a kiss!" She was & she thought it was so fun. She will occasionally give me a kiss if I ask for it, but that took several days!
Things Hannah Kate LOVES:
~Books with lots of pictures-ones that have like a page of cows, a page of pigs, a page of tractors, etc. that are labeled. She has two that are her very favorite. One is bigger and has a variety of pictures-kids doing different things, different kinds of food, different kinds of animals, etc. She loves flipping through this book, pointing at the pictures, & saying, "See!" When she gets to the page with the kids pointing to different body parts, she will look at the picture, & point to that part on her.
~Standing on her head with her booty in the air. She does this & laughs. Usually, Wesley or I will tickle her belly & she will laugh & fall over.
~Animals-she loves looking out the window for birds or the bulls out back. We went to the pet store the other day because I thought she would enjoy it & she definitely did. I can't wait to take her to the zoo next week! She is going to get to feed GIRAFFES!!! I don't know which one of us is more excited.
~Getting up early-this is not something that Mommy & Daddy love. She has been waking up at 7 am or earlier the past couple of weeks. I am afraid she is about to phase out one of her naps.
~Sliding-she still likes swinging, but after a few swings, she will sign "all done" & point to her slide. A friend from church gave it to us for free! Pretty awesome. It will be even more awesome when Hannah Kate can slide down & get herself back to the top to slide down again!
~Riding on the tractor-she waves the entire time.
Things Hannah Kate Does NOT Love:
~Sleeping until 8am like the good ol' days. (see above)
~Being put down.....seriously this is getting old. I put her down anyway & do what I need to, but she cries & cries. We are really having to work on that!
~Leaving outside-we have to sign "all done" & say "bye bye outside" when it's time to come inside.
~Having her nose wiped-she has a runny nose & this is no fun! The first day she didn't mind me wiping her nose because Wesley had been grabbing her nose to be funny/aggravating recently, so she just thought I was doing that. After the first day, she figured it out, though!
~Swatting flies-we have had a serious fly issue in our house & she hates when we swat them with the fly swatter. She cries almost every time. I even say, "Hannah Kate, don't be scared. I'm going to get a fly," before I do it. She still freaks out.
Words: Mrs. Diana was going to be out for 2 of our meetings & she said, "Hannah Kate, you're going to be saying so many new things when I get back." The next day, she started & by 5 days later, she had 14 new words!
~New words: bug, bye bye, toes, play, love you, see (she only says this about 3 million times a day), choosss (Cheerios), pat, tree, bird, bow, bull, easy, pretty, cheese, pee pee, poop, deat (eat), shoe/shoes (we went in a shoe store the other day & she probably said shoes 5000 times!), socks, tat (hat & does the sign for hat), bow, oh wow
~still says: Papa, Pa, Mama, Dada, baby, hi, hey, moo, ru ru (ruff ruff), uh oh, ou si (outside), /b/ for anything she wants to eat.... /b/ /s/ is snack, /u/ for up, /a/ (loudly) for amen and she says it the entire time I am saying the prayer at the end of Bible time (she knows she can get up when I saw amen), more
~She's also started repeating words after us if it's at the end of the sentence, but she doesn't use them independently yet.
Signs: more, baby, all done, up, bird, hat, Sometimes: grass, go, bug, star,
