I cannot believe this girl is already three! She is SUCH a BIG girl. We were watching a video from May & she looked & talked like a baby. Someone asked this week if she was four after they heard her talking. We are so blessed by her & thankful for her good health, no developmental delays at all! Yay! You would never know she was a 28 week preemie!
Weight: 33 lbs, 50th-75th percentile
Height: 3 ft 1/2 in, 50th percentile
Clothing Size: 3T tops, 2T (some 3T) bottoms, Shoe Size: 8
~The week before she turned three, she started saying "Molllllie" (emphasizing the /l/) & "plllllllay." It is hilarious to hear her say, "I want to plllllllay with Molllllllie."
~Hannah Kate LOVES play-dough, coloring, painting, stickers, going to restaurants (she asks almost everyday if we can go to a "rest-a-rant"), Bible class, playing with other kids, watching videos, playing at Nana's house (upstairs), finding people with jewelry to play with before or after worship.
~She also loves having Micaiah sleep in her room. This. Is. Huge. We moved them together maybe three weeks or so ago.
The first two nights were TERRIBLE. TERRIBLE. She said she did NOT want Micaiah sleeping in her room (probably had something to do with the spankings she got for making so much noise!) Things are much better
now. Usually, he is asleep when I put him down, but if he isn't, he
goes to sleep fairly quickly. If he is awake & he can hear Hannah
Kate, he ends up at the end of the bed close to her laughing. Last
night, they were yelling BOO to each other & laughing hysterically.
Thankfully, that doesn't normally last long. (He still naps in the
guest room because they both sleep longer at nap that way.)
~She has learned half of the first KidSing card & we are working on the next half. She has also just started a new memory verse-1 John 4:7. Wesley has been singing that verse of The Greatest Command to her at night & she loves it.
~Wesley puts her to bed, & I come tell her good night after Micaiah is in bed. When he puts her to bed, she has swindled him into a "bedtime story" after she gets in the bed. When I come in, she has to have me tuck her in tight, kiss her good night & sometimes she tries to get me to read to her or sing her a song (I don't read her another story though). The other night, she asked me to sing her the lullaby Wesley sang her when he put her to bed. She couldn't tell me the name of it, but I made up some words to a lullaby. When I got to our room & asked Wesley what he sang her, he said he hadn't sang anything! Crazy kid!
~She is really into playing doctor this week. She will say she doesn't feel "bery bery well" & needs a check up. She spreads a blanket on the floor & says it's the "paper" & asks me to check her out. We really played into this in preparation for her appointment Wednesday. With a few minor exceptions (checking her blood pressure! I had no idea they would do that), she did awesome! She went to an appointment with me the day before & asked if every person we saw had a "stethoscope that goes thump thump."
~She is scared of things a lot more recently. She hasn't seen anything with monsters, but she will say there is a monster in a room, etc. If the lights are off in a room, she really does not want to go in alone-even if it's the daytime & she can still see. We've talked a lot about how God is always with her & He protects her. A few times, she has asked to pray so she won't be scared before she goes into another room to get something.
~She is really into praying for people to feel better, wanting to make a card for someone if she knows they are sick (she made a card for Micaiah when he was sick last month & for herself since it was her birthday-ha!), or making cookies/bread for people to make them happy. That makes my mommy heart happy!
~We had snow last week-Hannah Kate LOVED it!! She was giddy with excitement! This week, it has been in the 60s & sunny & she has LOVED playing outside.
