19 Months Old

What happened to our baby? Hannah Kate is definitely looking & acting like a little girl now.  It is fun & sad all at the same time!

Diaper Size: 4

Clothing Size: 12-18 months (still sticking with her adjusted age for clothing)

Food Fun:
~Favorites are fruit, crackers, cheese, cookies, cake, bread, milk, ice cream.
~Recent favorites/new things: bbq, apples, apple cider, pears

Fun Facts/Newest Tricks:
~She has three waves: a whole arm & part of body wave, a dainty hand side to side wave, & a regular wave.  The whole arm wave she uses for animals, dolls, Micaiah, people in pictures, etc.  It's hilarious.
~She can walk backwards....fast.  We think she can also run.
~She knows these body parts: nose, eyes, ears, hair, head, foot, toes, belly, hands, mouth, fingers (& regularly points out those parts & says the words-especially NOSE!)
~She knows some color words: pink, orange, yellow are her favorite guesses for colors.
~She makes great animal noises especially: bear, tiger, lion, cat, horse, cow......her donkey noise sounds like a high pitched "uh oh" & she also attempts to make a tractor noise, but it usually just looks like she's blowing loudly.
~She's been jabbering a LOT.  She will go on & on for a good 5-10 minutes without stopping.  We just laugh & enjoy it.
~She categorizes words.....for example, if she says "hot," she always says "cold."  Dirty/clean, sun/moon/stars, cracker/cookie, yes/no, tractor/seat/Papa, bird/fly/go, happy/sad/cry/laugh, go/stop are some other ones.
~We've been working on her first memory verse: "Children obey your parents-Ephesians 6:1."  She will say each word after us.  Finally, (last week, maybe) she said each word on the first time instead of us having to repeat the word & tell her to say it.  So, we added "in the Lord." Saturday, I was saying it for her to repeat & when I got to "in" she said, "out." FIVE times.  I was laughing so hard & she just kept looking at me.  She finally said "in" & we finished the verse.  She had done it every time since then.  Twice today we've tried to get her to do that to show someone, but of course she's saying it correctly now.  Before she started saying the words after us on the first try, she would say the next word.  If we said, "Children," she would say, "obey," etc.  At least we knew she knew the verse!  She can also say the last word of Genesis 1:1 & 1 John 4:8 & say the verse number.
~She is starting to sing a little.  Some new songs that she knows words to are:  Tis So Sweet (to Trust in Jesus), Joy Joy Joy, New Testament Books, Old Testament Books, Sing & Be Happy, S-m-i-l-e.  I think she probably knows the words to most of the songs on her Bible song CDs because Wesley just randomly started singing S-m-i-l-e to her the other day & she would say the words he left out-we only sing that song with the CD usually.
~She's started leaning over to me & "loving" on me when I am pushing her in a shopping cart.
~She's a GREAT helper.  As soon as she could follow a direction, I have tried to have her help me do things.  She is great at picking things up (which is handy since my belly is starting to get in the way of leaning over!), getting things, & pushing the laundry basket from the laundry room to the bedroom (she usually shouts "GO GO GO" as she does it).  She loves laundry days because she pulls the clothes out & says "CLLLLLOTHES" over & over.  This week, she started identifying whose clothes they are, "CLLLLLOTHES Daddy." In the past week, she has decided she likes dusting, vacuuming, & carrying the Windex to every window so I can wash windows.  What a helper!! I am SO thankful that I started early with her.
~She can climb into her car seat!
~She has started blowing kisses for real. :)  She has stopped giving kisses. :(  She will lean her head to you if she wants a kiss.

Things Hannah Kate LOVES:
~Clapping purposefully-she is so proud of herself & usually says "YAY!" after.
~Jewelry-she has been this way for months, but I don't think I ever posted it on here.  Oops.  She loves to go to the ladies at church services with the biggest necklaces or earrings.
~Yelling, "YAY!" & clapping when someone does a "Debt Free Scream" on Dave Ramsey.  She's been doing that for a few months & I forgot to write about it too.
~Looking at books in the car-she almost always has to have a book in her hands if she is in the car seat.  When we went to Vanderbilt last month, she looked at books for 2-2 1/2 hours on the way there!
~Tractors-the other day she picked up her toy tractor, said "Seat," & started trying to put her foot into the one inch opening for where the seat is.  Yikes!  A popular saying from her right now is, "Papa! Tractor!"
~Four Wheelers-she loves the riding one she has in the house & can put her feet up on the fenders the way Wesley does to hold her while he pushes her.  Yesterday, she stuck her feet up there, looked at me & said, "GIN!"  She had to wait awhile until Wesley came home.  Today, we rode the four wheeler to go pick up Wesley & when I turned it off, she said, "GIN! GO GO GO!"  So, we drove around in the yard for a few minutes.
~The creation cards on popsicle sticks & the Adam & Eve books in her Bible time basket.  Even when it isn't Bible time, she gets them out & wants to play with them.
~Trying to drink the bath water-GROSS!
~Having water poured on her head in the bath-exact opposite of her mommy!
~Micaiah!  She has been so sweet lately & will raise up my shirt, pat my belly, "love" on my belly, & say "Caiah!"  She will be a great big sister! If you ask where Micaiah is, she will pat whoever is closet to her or herself & say "baby belly."  The other night, she lifted Wesley's shirt, patted his belly & said, "Caiah!"
~Coloring, reading, playing with Wesley's ninja turtles from
when he was little, bubbles, going outside (especially smelling flowers), animals, baby dolls, clothes, other kids/babies.

Things Hannah Kate Does Not Love:
~Not getting to do the four wheeler "GIN!"
~Getting on the potty......once you get her on there, she will calm down, but when you say "Let's go potty," she cries & says "BO!" (no)
~People she doesn't know touching her (& sometimes talking to her)-we are working on this!  She had complete & utter meltdowns when both Glenn & Cindy Colley spoke to her & touched her (at separate times) at PTP.  Talk about embarassing!

Favorite Words:
~hep, nose, kiss, baby, uh oh, CLLLLOTHES (she usually yells it), Papa tractor, GO GO GO, GIN, Caiah, cowor, tank ou, sop, go, apps (grapes), reallyreallyreallyreally, pobby, pay, key (she says this a lot & I have decided it means "carry you")
~daddy, mommy, amen & hairbow--she started saying them correctly :(

New Signs:
~full, sheep, ice cream, goat, friends, doll, girl, cheese

We are so blessed.
